ATTENTION USERS!
We're sure you've noticed that some of the features of this site no longer work! We've been working to implement a new platform called TweenTribune (see below), and what you are experiencing is a part of this transition. Rest-assured, you still have full access to ePilot, the electronic replica of The Virginian-Pilot, just as you did before. Bear with us during this transition and please, please check out TweenTribune!

The Virginian-Pilot introduces TweenTribune! Your daily source of news for students! Even more, it's an online learning platform with custom features for every classroom, teacher and student. Each weekday, you'll see age-appropriate news stories that will interest your students. They are able to comment ('blog') about the stories they've read. You can share lesson plans with other Virginia educators, print and grade your students' comments, and more! You're in full control of this 'virtual classroom.'
Why Use Newspapers
in Education?
The Virginian-Pilot provides newspapers, online resources, and innovative curriculum materials to schools in the greater Hampton Roads area. We're committed to the belief that NEWS is a dynamic tool for energizing classrooms, engaging students, increasing cultural awareness, and essential for encouraging critical thinking skills.
The program is a powerful tool for promoting literacy, while also creating involved and informed citizens. Our mission is to partner with teachers and administrators in providing classroom access to news for every student in the greater Hampton Roads area.

Verify Your Papers
Teachers, please remember to verify your newspapers every semester. NIE is audited annually and must have a verification form on file each semester for every teacher.
